My way, or His way.
Each day there’s a choice.
“You’re only young once,”
Whispers the voice.
Consequences; consequences.
What is the cost?
If I choose my way,
What will I have lost?
Words spoken in anger
Can seem justified,
But can linger a lifetime
After all tears have been cried.
Pleasure for a moment
Can come with a cost.
Monumental pain;
Substantial loss.
My way; my way –
Live for today.
Who cares who I hurt?
Who cares what I pay?
My way, or His way.
Each day is a choice.
“You won’t get addicted,”
Whispers the voice.
Consequences; consequences.
What is the cost?
If I choose my way,
What will I have lost?
We gossip; we judge;
We lie and we cheat.
It’s all about us.
What’s in it for me?
My way, or His way.
Each day is a choice.
“Just hide the sin,”
Whispers the voice.
Consequences; consequences.
I know about cost,
For I often chose my way;
And I suffered the loss.
Temporary pleasure
For temporary gain
Brought me so many troubles;
Caused so many pain.
But because of the debt
Jesus pain at the cross,
I was able to bring
All to Him I had lost.
My way as His way
Each day now my choice.
I listen to Him;
No longer that voice.
Consequences; consequences
Of His way are mine –
True pleasure forever,
Forever, forever divine.
